Recently, I’ve been kind of MIA lately and it’s because I’ve been going through a lot.
On Wednesday night, November 30th 2011, Marlene Girouard passed away. She is pretty much a second mom to me and is one of the most influencial people in my life. It was the most unbearable experience to witness her last breath.
A couple days later, her daughters, Jackie & Jessica Girourd, and her other extended daughter, Jennifer Kovnats and I got tattoos in honor of Marlene. I got her birthday, because fortunately, it is the same as my mom’s, on my arm.
June twenty-second, forever symbolized of the two strongest women I know. One for fighting breast cancer for 12 years and the other having to deal with me for almost 19 years.
Rest in peace, Tita Mar ♥ Thank you for everything. Thank you for raising me like one of your daughters, for yelling at me for laughing too much, for taking me swimming (whether it was at waterparks or at Sharon’s pool), for cooking the best empanada and salad in the world, for singing Baby Beluga, for giving birth to the two bestfriends that I’ve known all my life, and for telling us you love us when you could barely talk and giving each of us a kiss. I’m really happy you’re no longer in pain, but we are. We just miss you terribly, and it hurts like no tomorrow.
